Google Blocked All CO.CC Subdomains from Search Results

Google - The Gaint

In order to fight against web spam Google, the giant blocked all co.cc subdomains sites from its search results. Co.cc is a domain used a company that offers subdomains in bulk, to anyone interested in this sort of deal. Many people start registering CO.CC domains since its given as FREE. They start a website with CO.CC copy & paste some contents and make the website as junk to get a Google page rank. This started attracting so many spammers.

It seems that Google has had enough from co.cc-provided websites and has now blocked the entire domain. Checkout the below screenshot,

Matt Cutts Remarks:

“First, a definition: a ‘freehost’ is a domain that will let anyone register a site on that domain. There’s lots and lots of high-quality freehosts out there (wordpress.com comes to mind),” Matt Cutts wrote, on Google+Matt Cutts is the head of internet spam in Google

“We absolutely do try to be granular, but I wanted to mention that if we see a very large fraction of sites on a specific freehost be spammy or low-quality, we do reserve the right to take action on the freehost as a whole,” he explained.

“I think most savvy search/SEO folks would understand this completely, but I figure it’s better to over-communicate than under-communicate,” Matt Cutts added.

Though some bloggers are having good sites with CO.CC due to many Spammers I personally feel banning CO.CC in Google Search Engine is a right move to stop encouraging Spammers. :) What you think?

I think Google has done the right thing as nothing can stop spamming. But still spammers will find the ways to continue their work.

I guess it’s a good move from Google but banning this type of site won’t eradicate the problem. There are also sites out there that uses different tld’s and they should also pay attention to this.
